Apple seeded iOS 5.1 Beta 2 to developers today and among other tweaks, users are now able to manage their Photo Stream. I don’t know why this feature wasn’t available from the launch, but it looks like we’ll be getting it soon enough.

NEW: Photos taken using iOS 5.1 can be deleted from Photo Stream on your device and will be removed automatically from Photo Stream on your other iOS 5.1 devices. Older photos can be manually deleted from your iOS 5.1 devices.

Update: According to @markgurman, looks like OTA update for the iOS 5.1 isn’t available so please advise, developers.

Currently Photo Stream is an all-or-nothing deal. You either could delete the whole thing or have to keep everything, up to 1000 photos.

Tip. To delete your Photo Stream:

  • Simply log onto iCloud
  • Click on your name at the top right corner of the window
  • Advanced
  • Reset Photo Stream

Hopefully the iOS 5.1 Beta 2 made some progress towards improving the battery life on our iPhone 4Ss…no report on that yet, but will keep you posted if anything comes up.

The iOS 5.1 Beta 2 is compatible with iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad 1, and 3rd & 4th gen iPod Touch. It’s a 801MB download.

Have you tried out the beta yet? Any changes other than those stated above? Please let us know in comments.
