Another day, another Twitter app tip. This new update seems to be causing a lot of confusion for people.
One of the things that seem to be missing is the ability to search (stalk?) other people’s mentions on Twitter. Well the function’s there, it’s just not very intuitive or convenient. Other apps have @(username) on the user’s profile so you could search their mentions, but it looks like the Twitter app for iPhone doesn’t.
Well let me show you the workaround.
Select ‘#Discover’ and enter the Twitter username of the person you want to search for.
Yes, this isn’t convenient at all, especially for those longer usernames and such…but I could only see it being done this way as far as the Twitter app goes. Mind you, there are other great Twitter apps around. Although it’s not Free, I personally recommend TweetBot to all my friends. I’ve tried numerous Twitter clients and this is just about the best one I’ve used so far. One thing that bothers me is that it doesn’t support long tweets (like Twitlonger) but hey, Twitter’s not supposed to contain paragraphs, right?
Let us know in comments if you found another way to search other people’s mentions.
Also, which Twitter clients do you use?
